Bob Coleman won the NZ 500cc Miniature TT in 1960 (AJS) and NZ 500cc Motocross title  1964 (AJS) the NZ 350cc Beach Championship in 1965 (AJS), plus NZ Mile Grass titles. Bob was the youngest son of the late Percy Coleman a World Grass Track Champion who came to Wanganui in 1928 and opened a motorcycle and radio shop at 115 Guyton Street. The Percy Coleman & Sons company was appointed AJS distributor for NZ after brother Rod won the Isle of Mann Junior TT in 1954. The company became Suzuki distributor for NZ in 1958, the Suzuki companies 3rd customer. The Coleman’s company sponsored many events and competitors as motocross took off in NZ in the early 70s. Bob actively supported his son Craig Coleman in his NZ and European Motocross campaigns. Bob was a selector and manager for North Island MX teams for many years and is the current patron of the Wanganui Motorcycle Club.
