It was another ripper of a start for the little Spanish power ranger KTM Factory Junior’s Jorge Prado who pinned it around turn one ahead of Davide Cislaghi and his KTM Factory Juniors teammate Conrad Mewse. Keeping the fans happy, Mewse didn’t waste anytime on storming forward to pass Prado on lap three and run away for his first EMX125 race victory of the season.

Prado was comfortable in second for most of the race before engaging in a killer battle with his other KTM Factory Juniors teammate Josiah Natzke. Within half a lap, the New Zealander Natzke stormed up the inside of the EMX125 red plate holder Prado and pulled a gap for second. Prado was thrown off his rhythm and on the same lap was pushed back to fourth with yesterdays race one winner Kemea Yamaha Yamalube Maxime Renaux throwing down a come from behind story to take over third.

As the race wound up, Mewse took a solid race win ahead of Natzke and Renaux. While Prado was passed on the last second by fellow Spaniard Ruben Fernandez Garcia meaning he would only finish fifth.

Unfortunately the local kid Conrad Mewse was stripped of his first victory when he received a ten-place penalty for jumping on a yellow flag. This gave the overall victory to the race one winner Kemea Yamaha Yamalube’s Maxime Renaux leaving the KTM Factory Juniors duo of Josiah Natzke and Jorge Prado who rounded out the top three respectively.

Race 1

Monster Energy Kawasaki’s David Herbreteau narrowly took the holeshot ahead of Wilvo Forkrent KTM’s Adam Sterry and Monster Energy DRT Kawasaki’s Darian Sanayei. Herbreteau had the early race advantage but was soon dropped back to third when Sterry and Sanayei passed him.

Around mid-race, the defending EMX250 champion who had a rough start to the season with all of his bikes being stolen and some other issues such as mechanical problems during the races he was able to compete in, came out charged up and quickly fought his way forward from around tenth to put a solid pass over a triple jump on Herbreteau for third.

Coming into the closing stages it was a battle of the English speakers as Sterry from England and Sanayei from the United States went head to head for the opening moto victory. After sending the crowd into frenzy, Sanayei hooked it up a gear and took over the lead. Sterry did his best to challenge the American for the win, but ended up having to settle for second ahead of fellow Brit Steven Clarke. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Davy Pootjes put in a solid performance for fourth while the holeshotter David Herbreteau rounded out the top five. 

 

Race 2

Thick cloud cover, four MXGP and MX2 races, and constant drizzle made the conditions of race two vastly different for the second race of the EMX250 round of Great Britain. Soaking up the challenge, five of the hottest championship threats J-Tech Honda’s Nick Kouwenberg, Kemea Yamaha Yamalube’s Damon Graulus, Bud Racing Kawasaki Monster Energy’s Maxime Desprey, Wilvo Forkrent KTM’s Adam Sterry and Yamaha Ausio Yamalube’s Ander Valentin filled out the top five.

Despite being labeled a ‘sand rider’ Kouwenberg took the early advantage before being passed by Graulus who took the lead and controlled the rest of the race. Kouwenberg managed to ride unchallenged for the majority of the race before fading in the latter stages. With Kouwenberg fading back Desprey was quick to snatch second place with Sterry and Valentin following a few laps later.

With three laps to go, the defending EMX250 champion Steven Clarke emerged and started beating on the doors of Kouwenberg, Valentin and Sterry. After passing Kouwenberg, Clarke flew through the whoops to impressively take over fourth and challenge fellow Brit, Sterry, for third.

The two lap board encouraged Sterry, Clarke and Valentin to start packing punches for the last podium position, but with the waving of the checkered flag it was Damon Graulus who took his first race win of the season ahead of Maxime Desprey. Adam Sterry managed to hold on tight for third while Steven Clarke and Ander Valentin rounded out the top five.

With the combination of both race results, it was a great day in the office for the Brits Wilvo Forkrent KTM’s Adam Sterry, who took his second EMX250 overall ahead of the defending EMX250 champion Steven Clarke. Race two winner Kemea Yamaha Yamalube’s Damon Graulus rounded off the podium.
